Looking for computer to flash with

Post by sccrbrandon4788 »

What do you think the minimum requirements are? I just want something to flash xbox's with so I can make some money to finish my main computer. eBay has quite a few Pentium 3 computers but I'm afraid that they will run so slow that I'll end up pulling my hair out.

EDIT: Do you think Linux will work?

it looks fine

there is one thing
the first flash i tryed was on a HP and after days of banging my head i found out the the HP computer was the problem
if you can pick it up super cheap i would give it a try.
I would hope it can boot from a usb flash ;)

HAHA. im going to try and see what speed the memory is and see how cheap i can get it at work. probably just 512mb.. btw there are only 2 slots for memory. i'll take some pics later tonight, i have to work in an hour and have to leave in 30 min.

yeah i think it was a waste of time... i found 2 different bios updates and neither will work. i think its because it had 98 on it and i put XP and the bios wont work with it, even though it says it will.... i've got another couple computers to look at but if cofree or sadalius knows what i can do with it.

it took forever formatting and installing xp, getting all the programs on(iprep, xbins, via) and it doesnt work.

hopefully we can find something out.

See if you can find a floppy and do it that way. I know everyone says its less reliable, but we've done it that way and it works fine. Just make sure you buy decent media just like anything else.
