sata settings with liteon dvd key error

Hi guys.

I was trying the whole day and night to flash my liteon getting the famous "DVD Key is invalid" error.
I used every sata port i have (8) and dosflash finds the drive just fine. i am using a ck3 lite with probe. can sombody please check if my bios settings are ok.

SATA RAID/AHCI MODE: *DISABELD RAID AHCI
SATA PORT 0-3 NATIVE MODE: *DISABELD ENABLED
ONBOARD SATA/IDE DEVICE: DISABELD *ENABLED
ONBOARD SATA/IDE CTRL MODE: *IDE AHCI RAID/IDE
ONBOARD SERIAL PORT 1: 3F8/IRQ4
(chosen option is marked with *)

or is it just that this tiny loose serial cabel of the ck3 lite is crap. tried also the terminal solution for testing the com port (hope that i did id right) and getting no respond.

help help help i am getting sick of it (i want my samsung back )


ps. i have an onboard ICH9 sata controler and i used iprep 8.6 and 8.8

there is a good chance that your probe is having the trouble.
Sadalius and I worked on this for about 5 hours last night.
We came up we a few thing im going to try some different stuff and ill post up what happens.
You you are using iprep
you may need to solder the 707 point or wait and see if i can get this going tonight with the probe.

It might be Native SATA mode that you need to enable...

That's what I have to have on my nforce board to get it to work...

i had problems aswell with the probe and iprep just kept getting invalid key, how do find out if the com port is working

i tried both ways. when i swithch on native mode i get an error "can't get inquiery.bim" evan befor i have to open turn off etc.

first of all you and the guys here are doing a terrific job i am browsing the threads for hours and your tutorials are great.

i did try a few things out in the last houers. i briged the two solder points at r707 with a screw driver (as i understand one needs to connect the two pins only) i also build a homemeade probe by connecting the r707 hole and the rx with a wire. and used a few other programs. all give the same result.

I read you need to re-type the command a few times in IPREP with the probe method , and it will then give valid keys
I have not tried this and still unsure (eg: 1st time gives errors so keep trying it again a few times) ,as I really want to digest all info possible before I risk the liteon.
