hex editor

hi guys...sorry for asing such a silly question but .how do you use a hex editor to see if the key.bin, enquiry.bin and indentify.bin are the same each time...ive dumped the keys a few times, but just want to check thay are the same each time..before flashing the drive ?
what hex editor do you suggest i use ?

ive only even messed with that a few times.

i only use hex editors to look at certain things. I find them very complicated to use, even when I have a step by step guide on doing something to a file through a hex editor. I try to stay away from them as much as possible.

I use freeware called HxD which you can obtain

ok...ta, so what am i suppose to lookffor....im assuming i load each individual key, enquiry and identify and then check if they are the same at least 2 or 3 times...correct ? ta

ok...ta...seems to be working again....shame i cant download it like cofrees vid tuts....as they seem to be clearer and you can see what you are doing, but.dont get me wrong ,appreciate the hard work youve put in...thanks mate for doing this....vid..

You can check you key out using FWToolbox 4.8...
You need to load a Valid FW Image in first (that can be a blank 1.4 image if you wish, it doesn't matter what fw for this)
Where it displays the key click the browse button, you can then load a key of your choice to check them...

what do you mean by a valid firmware image..? can u give an example...please...

just load any firmware in.
then the program will let you input a key.
its a bug in the program
that you can not just open a key file to look at the key.
