Getting a new 360

Post by stick person »

Hey guys, my 360 recently died so it's time to get a new one. I'm gonna get the Pro, but is this just 1 type of drive in the pro or are they all different? If so, is there anything to not get or one that's best to get? Thanks!

man
you do not want a lite-on drive.it can not be flashed at this time and it not looking good for the near future.

get it from some where you can take it back if you get a lite-on.
a v79 would suck to.

try to find a benq

Is there a way I can make sure I get what I want before leaving the store? Does the 175W on the back of the box correctly identify something as a Falcon? And do all BenQ have Falcon chipsets? Thanks.

unless you find some old stock, (lot 0816 or before) made in early april or before....which is pretty hard by now.

them you might have to look around for a used one...maybe craigslist or gamestop ? i dunno how gamestop does their systems if they send em back to ms then they are all prolly lite-ons too.

good luck.

what, all new ones are lite-ons? I would try craigslist, but I don't trust it. Too easy to sell a busted one.

yea man all the newly made ones after early april or so are lite-ons, to my knowledge.

but craigslist is worth a try, i mean i'm sure the person would let you try it out an everything before you bought it.

i mean who would buy a used 360 without testing/trying it out ? lol

oh, of course I would try it but someone could just do the towel trick right before I came so it would work for a half hour or so. Mine had the RROD and I could easily do that to someone, but I'm not that big of an ass.

yeah man i'm not sure.

buying a used 360 is always a greater risk than buying new i guess, mainly being the possibly dishonesty of the seller.

good luck.
