flashing a slim...

i have a friend who claims he hasnt took the latest dash so the spi chip is unlocked right, but he said he wants to be able to play gow3 and other XGD3 game backups

the only way for the console to work with LT+2.0 is by updating to the latest dash then flashing over the drive with LT+2.0, but that means the spi chip locking up and having to buy a new pcb

is there any work around to this, so i dont have to take the update and flash straight to 2.0 maybe?

most places are not restocking them

i dont wanna try the kamakazi attack or whatever its called haha its too risky :L

anyone on here have any info on flashing the slims then? without having to buy a new pcb or doing the kamakazi attack or whatever its called

i dont have a soldering iron so i cant use the sputnik switch/probe, these both require cutting traces
