red light on charger
red light on charger
my friend dropped his xbox and it would not boot up after , i stripped it down and changed the board at the front it comes on now but if i turn it off and leave it the light on mthe charger goes red what does this mean
Re: red light on charger
sorry sorted it now i think it means there isnt anough power going into the xbox , maybe because it is an old power brick on a newer xbox
Re: red light on charger
red
would be telling you
there is something wrong with the power supply
or there is something wrong with the power circuits on the mobo
and no man
a old power supply will power any console
if the console dont need that much thats ok,but it can still power a new console and just have xtra power (so to speak)
but
a new power supply will not power a older console that need more power
because the power supply cant make the power need by the older consoles

Re: red light on charger
Red is also caused by a short.
Some mobo's if they detect a short, they will instantly cut off the power turning the brick red.
A friend of mine flashed his box and couldnt figure out why all his power bricks were going red, I took it apart and noticed the drive's power cable was half unplugged, plugged it back in and it all worked.
I'd say if you swapped the RF module and your brick goes green and console boot's then there is probably a short or something wrong with it, but should be fine if you've swapped it.

If he dropped the console, there could be damage to a joint or connection or something.
Re: red light on charger
dont surpose there is any chance of finding it is there on the mobo could be anywhere
