is this a benq drive?

Post by gd6noob »

so i had a little problem with my own drive but now thats solved thanx to CoFree..

i have a friends 360 and when i plugged it into my comp, instead of displaying VAD6038 like my 360 drive, it displayed "PLDS DG-16D2S 74850C"

the drive tray looks exactly like my benq so i thought it was a benq.. but i booted up my comp and notice it wasnt the usualy benq drive.. so have no idea if its a benq or not..

No it's slightly more complicated. You need to either use a probe or solder/bridge the 707 points if it hasn't been flashed before. Theres a few videos on it here: viewforum.php?f=195" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

i was reading around and googleling and apparently you can flash/spoof the liteon as a benq or phillips drive..

its that possible and is it safe?

**** EDIT ***** damn you still need a probe... can i get it off ebay or do computer stores carry them?

I got mine here:
CK3 - http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php ... 284&page=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Probe - http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php ... 284&page=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

CoFree gave them an "A" on his review. Good price and shipping was great.

nope
you will still have to have the key from your orig dvd drive
so if you got that key you just a well flash the orig drive
