LiteOn hack - HELP!

hello everyone,
I just bought a new Xbox 360 with a litOn drive and I need your help please,
for hacking the liteOn drive am i must buy the Xtractor or the CK3???
I cant just connect it to my computer both the data cable(sata) and the elctricity cable??
if it was a Samsung drive still i need to buy the Xtractor or the CK3???

Hi gigikobe.
For the liteons you need either the ck3 or Xtractor or a homemade ttl adaptor ( most prefer the ck3) Also depending on which program you are going to use you may have to get a r232 cable if you plan on using iprep and you purchase the ck3 pro (the lite version comes with an r232 but no usb support) Also you will need to either solder the 707 points, buy a probe or make your own.

For the samsung drives technically you don't need a ck3 and can power it through the 360 but there is some debate on whether Microsoft is able to discover that the drive had been flashed when attached to the 360 so a lot of people still prefer to use a ck3 to power it whilst flashing..

the guys are on the money here man.
there is some reading and a few thing you will need to get
but
over all its not hard to do once you get set up.

what we think could/will happen is that the console will start logging when it is turn on without the sata hooked to the dvd drive.

as far as M$ is concerned there would never be a reason for someone to do that.
unless they were messing around with the console in some way.

Hi gigikobi,
My CK3 Lite arrived today along with the CK3 PROBE add on,
I flashed my Lite On with them along with my VIA VT6412A card
So all together you need a CK3 PRO or CK3 Lite, a CK3 PROBE add on and a VIA VT6412A card
The difference with the PRO and the Lite is that the PRO uses USB connection to the computer and the Lite uses the COM port on the back of your computer.
Search whatever Xbox 360 modding website for the above items and your good to go.
If you cant find the VIA card look on ebay, you can pick them up pretty cheap these days.
If you need any help when the parts arrive just let me know and i will help you through the flashing progress

Well i dont know what on board SATA is compatible so i went and bought this because it works with all of the drives,

most can not get there onbo sata to work.
so yea that card i would say look in to getting is this one.
