How can I test this?
I swapped my HDD to motherboard sata with the sata that comes in your 360. So I have my drive connected to my motherboard, and am going to use the 360's power. I have the cases touching, my drive is an ms28.
How do I see if my OBD can read my FW? How do I do this?
Does my OBD Work?

Re: Does my OBD Work?
By OBD you mean the Onboard SATA? If you do then all you need to do is load up iPrep or JungleFlasher whichever u are using, if in iPrep, dsam XXXXXXX XXXXX then hit OK and if it lists drive, then it recognizes it. If in JungleFlasher, you need to choose the port which its on, and look and see if your mS28 is listed. Its as simple as that.

Re: Does my OBD Work?
Since its an MS28, go to MTKFlash and choose the port, in I/O Port, if its the Samsung Drive, it will say so in the drive properties just below it.
Have a look at this and download it

Re: Does my OBD Work?
Ok, so then my on board doesnt detect it, I went to MTK 32, and tried all ports and it says no drive detected for all of them.
Also, when I power on my drive, it makes a loud noise at first, did something go wrong?
(Good thing my motherboard doesnt recognize it because I already bought the VIA chipset

Umm I don't know what the noise would be from but I think u should be fine. And when u use the VIA chipset, hook your SATA cable to the SATA port closest to the front of the case, that's the hot 1.

Re: Does my OBD Work?
Alright, good to know!
Why would my HDD be connected to the one farthest back? Does this matter?
The xbox boots fine, green lights etc, so I will reposition the drive, and test it see if the xbox makes this weird sound. Could have been since my drive was tilted.

Re: Does my OBD Work?
When i said the closest to the front i meant for the VIA card the one next to the motherboard not the external and not the side one.

Oh alright
My xbox started fine, no noises when I re positioned the drive, must have been the position it was in.
So now the wait for my VIA card begins
