Confusion on Updating to 1.5

Hey i was reading the pdf on samung drives, and i guess u can update the firmware w/o restoring to ofw, am i right? If so, next step to take is by burning the iso and running Jungle to put the drive in vendor mode. and here is where i'm stuck after i put in vendor mode,do i follow the steps to the read the f/w off of the drive, and so on? and also if something screws up in the middle of the process and an error occurs is it possible to just restart the 360 w/o damaging the f/w or anything?

If you flash a fw in with a bad key, and you don't have a dump with the good key, then you have a DVD player. But if you take your time, and ensure that each step is correct before moving to the next, you'll be fine

Once you have the drive in vendor mode, do a couple of dumps of the drive. This way you can check the key matches in each dump (and is unique, not all 0000's or FFFFF's).

From there, you can add your key to ix 1.5 using the Firmware32 tab... Load your firmware as source, 1.5 as target. Then click spoof source to target. Job done with your firmware, save it somewhere familiar and email it yourself. That key is vital, make sure you have it in a few places...

Flashing can be done in a few ways, might as well finish off with Jungle Flasher though...

Thanks, yea that key is very vital i kept it in a couple of places and also put it on a cd. I remember messing up and w/o the original key it would of been useless. But yea i will use that program to verify a good key. Thanks again

Jungle Flasher is great, albeit there still are some bugs that need to be worked out between the VIA card and windows. You can also manual spoof to other compatible fw like the 0800 backup fw if you need/want to.
