Flashing a liteon !

Heyy guys, i first would like to thank you by taking the time to read my post ^-^
im new at flashing, and yes i've seen MANNY and MANY of CoFree videos on flashing a Lite-On.

on one of Cofree videos i seen "http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=JIrqdRALLSs" CoFree used a USB to do it correct ? im going to buy the CK3 Pro today with the probe.

and i was wondering if you still need to connect a Sata cable ? i wasn't sure if your still suppose to connect a sata cable.

Thanks for the help guys! if you have more to say on how to do it (i know there's a lot of tutorials) but just incase you wanna tell me more, it will be well appreciated!

you are still gonna need to connect the drive to a sata port, preferably the via sata card that cofree mentions in his tuts. check it out.

the information is sent to the drive through the sata connection so theres really no way around that

Thanks for the reply! ummm .. how do i know if i have a via chipset because CoFree didnt right? and also, the sata port on my motherboard correct ?

if you are using the new jungle you dont need a via chipset.In fact if you have a via chipset i would tell you to use iprep to flash with.
but yea iamwatt is right
you have to have the sata hooked up because that is what that is what the flash goes in the drive on.
