Im going to read my old drive and create the firmware,
Then put my new drive in and use the flash command to flash the new drive with the hacked firmware and along with the key :D
Wish me luck.

Only thing I can think of is something with the drive key, or maybe the sata cable. But it sounds like the 360 just isn't able to hash out if the drive is passing the right drive key to the console itself. When you put in an original game disk, do you get the message that says To play this game, put it in an xbox 360, or does it freeze up on you like before?

I would try a different sata cable just for kicks and giggles, but I'm thinking it has something to do with your drive key not being right or something. Maybe someone else might have another idea and could chime in

Well, I can't answer for him, but I would say he would have the same opinion as I do. But I will let him make that call. He'll see this post and respond.

dump the drive and look at the key just to make sure its good.
i would try the thing sadalius said just to make sure.
but
if that key is good and its doing that it has to be the wrong key.

Just for the record here guys.

Do you have any other drives laying around that the key may have possibly gotten mixed up with or something?

Nope,
The drive that come in the xbox had the key that i was using,
The previous owner must of done something for it to go like this,
But the firmware i read off the old drive wasn't flashed at all,
It still had the stock firmware,
The box still comes in handy because i can still play dvds and i can still stream movies off my pc :D

oh so you bought this one used or from ebay or something? If thats the case, yeah, the previous owner could have tried replacing the drive without putting the key from the old drive in it or something like that. I hate when crap like that happens too.
