please dont give up on it .... try this take of both snyc gpu's and cpu's replace thermal paste with arctic silver thermal paste,
do up screws with (hands) as tight you can , make sure washer space is 2 washers. turn on xbox and place fan (blowing) over cpu heatsink (big tall one) leave for about 10 mins then remove fan and wait for 2 red light.
now wrap in cloth or towel and place in cold storage for 1 hour.
now try and power up! good luck

The first time I did one, I overtightened, try loosning them off, doing them back up as tight as you can with your fingers...
Also, make sure it's AS5 as themusicsoulchild says, it's a waste of time with anything else

I also overtightened the first one i did,so i just tighten just till it bites and it seems to be ok.Do any of you guys use them grey coloured ram heatsinks,as i have just started using them and wondered if they are any good, mind you they seem better than the chewing gum type.
