Can't get probe to react with R707.

Heya :)

I'm pretty much in the middle of flashing my lite-on 7400 drive following ShootSteels tutorial. I'm at the point where you have to insert the probe into the R707 hole, and I've done that, but the probe does not react, (i graced the R708 hole and the green light went on there). I heard somewhere that you could use the R52 hole instead, but alas that is "glued" over on my drive :(

Also tried pressing the key in the DVDKey32 menu in Jungleflasher (while probe in R707 but no luck there either) just says Bad Serial Data.

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong ? Any help would be much appreciated :)

Wasn't the whole idea with the probe that you didn't have to solder ? (Because i really really really suck at soldering lol)

are you sure its a liteon 74850c not a liteon 83850c?
as the probe doesnt work on the 83850c and could dammage your drive

It was a 74850C, and I just finished flashing it, and now it works like a charm, think some dirt or plastic or something was stuck in the hole, but now it works :) Aprreciate the help i got here :)
