if you mean burning your back up games then you can do them on a normal dvd writer with normal single layer dvd disks you dont need nothing special and use imgburn to do it. So your drive should be fine

you need DVD -R for the wii as far as I know....I don't think the +R will work...what can it hurt though the cost like a quarter. Give it a whirl....if it works for you tell us what brand your using.

Some Wii's do have problems with DVD+r's, mine will not read them for love or money. It likes the -r's.

the wii that wont read are
one that have had trouble from the start
i called them a "weak wii"
i know the backup is good
I think its a laser thing
im just going to put a drive that will read in and mod the crap out of it
as i will no longer even be burning backups :D
then put the orig drive back in(it will play orig fine)

i then will be able to play iso from the Hd with gui-fx

now i goit it man
i did not know what that pm was about :D :D

Most anything -r will work as long as they are good media. Lightscribe and all. There is only one game that needs to be burnt to a DL disk and thats Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Everything else to date (to my knowledge) will run off a dvd-r.
