Yes you can replace the lite-on drive with another like the Samsung. It is called spoofing and there are some tutorials here under the 360 tutorials section. You would need to dump the lite-on key using a RS232 to TTL adapter or by using the CK3 pro which most of us here use and recommend. Next, you would dump the Samsung drive. Once you have successfully dumped both drives, you would use a program like FWToolbox version 4.8 to do the spoofing (again look under the 360 tutorials section).

at this point i think that jungle flasher is better to use for the spoofing than firmware toolbox.

I would use iprep to dump the lite-on
then jungle flasher to build the hacked firmware.
then iprep once again to flash in the hacked spoofed firmware

To even think about doing a job like this you need a good understanding of the dump/flash of both dvd drive
This would not be a good place to start if you are a beginner. ;)

If you would rather, I have a couple of spare brand new samsung drives, you could send it to me and get it done cheaper than buying the samsung drive yourself. Hit me up with a PM if your interested. I'm not trying to hock my services, just trying to help you out and save you some money at the same time.
