Question about old hitachi's

From what I have been reading the last few days about xgd3 and the new lt firmware to run the backups I haven't been able to get a straight answer about needing to reflash an old 46 hitachi to LT+v1.1. My question is will I be able to still play these back ups on ixtreme 1.51 or will I have to reflash? I know that old hitachi's don't read ap2.5 and 6 but will this be the same for xgd3.

you will have to have the latest dash
and yes you should update to hit v46 LT+ v1.1
