I know I ask too many questions but wait for this one:-

First off like the rest of you I have two boxes one for online and one backups. The one online is a virgin and never a backup. Second one is Lite drive and I have ask for this to be update to the last lt but the person doing is having major problems getting the key off it (he has done this loads of times and its not running the lastest dash, I wanted the key before I update, I do listen to what you say).

Now you are thinking why a third xbox, well back when Fable 3 came out, I tried to load this and could not so update to the lastest dash (back then) and try the disc swap and many other different ways and then the xbox was bannned but It was never on xbox line, I could not move my profile any more. Well I have just boot it and load the lastest dash and now I can move my profile???? why can now?

in one of the dash update they removed the corrupt the profile stuff

if its a liteon dvd drive
then it lock the chip after you updated the firmware
you can dump the drive by doing the mra trace cutting hack or using a probe3
you only need to do that if you dont have a copy of your orig firmware and key
if you have to get the key make soue to save a copy this time of your firmware and key

MY friend is saying this "I have extracted key but it is incomplete (this is what jungle flasher is telling me)normally when you extract a key it auto loads the film ware but when I save the key jungle flasher warns of a string fault.when I load the saved key in jf it says that it is not a complete key, I am trying to find a fix"

Yes its a Lite on

you are going to have to dump that drive again
with one of the methods above

like cofree said, you need to dump the drive with one of the methods he mensioned, i myself strongly recomment the probe 3 because there 0 possibility of messing the drive up

Right I think I have the DvD key, the lite-on is running on LT1.1, what to do?? I need test out the dvd key, I have know way of testing it to check to see if the dvd key is right or incomplete.

Options:

1) What would happen if I sproof my benq drive as the lite-on and see if the dvd key would work?

2) Put the Lite-on Drive back to stock and then update the xbox to the latest dash (its one behind at moment)?

I dont have the probe 3 or anything else to read the lite-on drive. Please help.

you could try that, if it then accepts games then you have the right key

dont do this until you know you have the right key, because when you flash the drive to stock you could flash it with the wrong key so the real key would no longer be retrievable from the drive, only the wrong one you flashed into could be retrieved

what did you do to get the key you have now?

Jungle Flasher says I have this drive:-

Lite-on DG-16d2s Rev 74850c

was about to use this one :-

Lite-on DG-16d2s Rev 02510c

to bring it up to LT 1.91. Is that the right firmware to use?

the latest dash should make your drive show up as a 02510c drive, you sure you got the latest dash installed?

Been wondering about that, when dashboard 13599 came out I ended up taking updates on all my boxes without flashing back to stock first. My dvd drives remained hacked, so did some research (thanks wikipedia):

Dashboard version 13146 did the following to DVD drives- "Reflashes the DVD drives to support XGD3 Media : PLDS DG-16D4S, PBDS VAD6038 and PLDS DG-16D2S, to a new stock firmware : 0272, 04421C, 02510C. Also patches Samsung MS25 & MS28."
Basically, it reflashed all DVD drives back to stock (except for Hitachi, I think).

Dashboard version 13599 further tries to lock out the slim dvd drives from hacking- "Reflashes the DVD drive PLDS DG-16D4S new stock firmware 0272 and locks SPI". So this dash doesn't reflash any drives except for the slim liteon.

If the 13146 dash update was to "prepare" DVD drives for added features, I would expect that each subsequent dash update would check dvd drive firmware and update if necessary. This didn't happen, so figure it was mostly just to mess with peeps who have had someone flash their drive for them.

Yes! Got the lastest Dash, because I had LT 1.1 then put it back to stock. Went online and update the dash and then left xbox live. Then (forget that I cant read the drive which is Lite-on) updated to lastest LT 1.91 with the lastest Rev and all works well!! Thx Guys again!

well if you say its the latest dash and that its all working fine what more can go wrong no problem mate
