Yes no problem I have been banned twice on my modded machine and have transfered my gamer-tag to my new xbox elite it's the machine that gets banned not your gamer-tag

they ban the console not your account
you can get back on live and it will be fine if its a stock drive

when you recover your gamertag you will not have any of the achievements you
got after you got banned

DO NOT RECOVER IT THROUGH XBOX LIVE!!!!!

You can still keep your achievements....

1. Update your console to the update that lets you use a usb drive as a storage device.

2. Put a flash drive (2GB+ I think) in the console and format it.

3. Move your profile to the usb drive.

4. Put your usb drive in your computer's usb port.

5. Use Modio to find your profile. Very obvious on a freshly formatted drive. Copy it to your computer.

6. Open your profile with CON Flag Remover and click clear flags. Flagged area should now be FFFF....

7. Open your profile with Hash Block Calculator. Use it to sign the hash blocks.

8. Copy your clean, uncorrupted profile back to your usb drive, overwriting the original. Don't worry, CON Flag Remover made a backup before it cleared flags just in case.

9. Take your usb drive to an unbanned console and sign into live. Achievement unlocked. ;)

you just keep on trying 'till you run out of cake.

It's all up there in my first post. You need to use CON Flag Remover, then Hash Block Calculator. When you have done both, copy it back to the usb drive, overwriting the original.

The BAK file is the original corrupt version of the profile. Do not hash it or write it to your USB drive.

It sounds like you don't have the directory structure. Once you format the USB drive on the console, and move a profile to USB, the console will set up the proper directory structure. You can also set it up yourself in Modio:

Partion 0\Content\E00001234567ABCD\FFFE07D1\00010000\

Where E00001234567ABCD is the same as whatever your profile is. When that is all set up, drop the profile in 00010000

Just a head's up.

If you cheat your gamerscore, they will reset your achievements, and set your gamerscore to 0.

That doesn't seem to be an automatic thing. Achievements are authenticated rather poorly, mainly due to the console losing time when it loses power. I haven't looked at that profile mod tool, but unless it does something stupid to the profile or is just plain buggy, using it add achievements that don't require XBL is *probably* safe. I've been pretty lucky in not having to deal with glitchy achievements though.
