BETA TESTING THIS WEEKEND !
<+c4eva> onge:no, too busy for that, liteon beta testing this weekend!
<+c4eva> key will still be via serial for now!
<+c4eva> the liteon has been a massive team effort , which without everyone involved would not be in this position! AMAZING STUFF!

Finally eh?

Well, I want to be prepared for when the method becomes available and was wondering what tool should I buy and from where (for lite-ons). Also, I have no problems soldering. I have done a few Wasabi installs on the Wii so have no problem working with small connections. With that type of experience, how difficult is the soldering on the lite-on board? I guess what I'm really trying to ask is how many of you are trying a home-made tool to dump the key as opposed to buying the Xtractor or CK3? I'm trying to decide if I should just buy the xtractor+spear or ck3 tool.

well
if you have done chips for the wii
you should not have any trouble.

as for how.
the only way im going to mess with it right now is with a ck3 pro with a probe(when it out)

Also my motherboard does not have a serial connection. I've read some random comments about serial to USB. Any reading material you have for that?

no
ive not looked into it.
I got the key and spoof info from my lite-on
with a ck3 pro with a usb cable.
I did have to solder the tx line for the dump.

i will get a guide up as soon as i can
AFTER the new firmware is out and we get a chance to look at it.

The maximus 360 extractor supports usb key retrieval for the lite-on. Then the flash should be sata.

also here is something everyone should be aware of....

2008-12-07
[02:39] <c4eva> ALL SPOOFED LITEONS ARE EASILY DETECTABLE BY MS! EVEN BENQ! WILL NEED IX1.5!
[02:42] <c4eva> 1.5 will cater for hidden liteon MS command!

Wow, is that true? Then currently (with the current iXtreme version) you'd be doomed to spoof your Liteon with any other drive (BenQ, Samsung, Hitachi), as MS can easily detect you?

woooaaah.. slow down every1
no1 has been detected yet - & mods were done b4 the recent ban hammer was dropped (including multi drive spoofing)

spoofing has been going on for along time & none of the consoles I have spoofed have been banned // lite-on, benq, hit or sam.

what this firmware does is continue to close potential holes/risks.. it's ongoing

panic is not a good thing to start or throw about

I posted some logs from irc.. that I was present at - but only to enlighten the fact that 1.5 is not only coming but almost here

lets not have irc logs of everything & anything... it does not bode well.
We will continue to offer best advice based on current knowledge & new developments - what we don't want to do is foll every convo or statement thrown about on "internet relay chat" networks

msk is on the money.
I know of some benq dvd drive spoofed in a lite-on right now.
That was done days after the first lite-on dump.
its not banned.
Lets just slow down and take it one day at a time.

we will have a lot more info when the new firmware comes out.

Its a known fact that spoofing any dvd drive in a console that had a different drive to start with.
was something you did as a last resort.Because it makes it more likely to get you banned.
We have known this for ever.

Hey all,

Did we hear anything about how the beta test of the lite-on FW went? It was supposed to be this weekend unless I am mistaken. If it went well should it not come out a week later? Just wondering.

Im not sure where they got there onfo from.

Lite-On iXtreme coming soon....
>> A iXtreme firmware is soon to be released for the Xbox360's LiteOn DG-16D2S drive.

Release is scheduled for the day before Christmas. More details will be available upon release. In preparation of the release, it is recommended that you purchase some of the available hardware listed below to assist you in the process of extracting the key. If you already possess and are capable of using a RS232 to TTL converter (serial) then you do not need to purchase any of the hardware listed below. If you have already dumped your key, no other modifications will be necessary.

Both Xecuter and Maximus offer Solderless (with the usage of the "Spear" or "Probe") methods to extract your key.
