Re: Iprep Key Dump Error ( :( )
Well, yeah, you can use iprep with the CK3 pro, only if you have a 9 pin serial connection on your computer though

Re: Iprep Key Dump Error ( :( )
Im going to try jungle flasher when my ck3 pro gets here. If that doesn't work ill have to swap out my motherboard.
Re: Iprep Key Dump Error ( :( )
So what other options do I have for me to dump via usb besides jungleflasher?

if you are dump/flash a lite-on dvd drive you need a ck3 or something like it.

^Dunno. Don't quite remember.
Anyhow, can I use ANY pci to rs232 adapter?
Ended up just getting my motherboard replaced.

Re: Iprep Key Dump Error ( :( )
if you use a pci com card
you have to run the drives after you start in dos.
for the card to work
ive not messed with it myself
i have onbo com port
but that is a small snag with a pci com card

Re: Iprep Key Dump Error ( :( )
when you put a pci com card in your pc
if/when you boot in dos the driver will not start
you have to put the driver on the boot flash and run the driver once you have started in dos.
that is my understanding
like i said i have never had to do it that way.
but
i dont use a pci com card.

Re: Iprep Key Dump Error ( :( )
Usually the driver package or manufacturer's website will have instructions on running the drivers in DOS. Sometimes it's just a command other times it can be just having a specific set of files on the DOS drive.

Today Money, Tomorrow the WORLD!!

*Noob Warning*
Ok I understand the concept for sure. What I don't quite understand is ummm. Iprep=Dos correct? Before I ordered it I noticed it DID say it was DOS compatible. Im just unsure of WHERE in iprep would I be able to hit a command to run the driver.

Re: Iprep Key Dump Error ( :( )
Any PCI com card won't work. It has to have DOS drivers, but for a standard serial port, they should have dos drivers for it. Mine came with a disk and in the drivers folder was a dos folder that had the driver and instructions on how to use it in dos. You have to run the driver every time you boot to dos unless you put the command to run the driver in your autoexec.bat file. Read over the instructions that came with your card though.
