Weird thing with the fans. it turns on, then the fans kick up really fast, then 2RRoD.CoFree wrote:no

I just used the "hold sync and then press Eject" method on my error code.
Turns out its Code 0011
"0011 CPU over heating - If you are receiving this error after disassembling your console make sure all 8 of the heatsinc screws are tightened securely to the board/heatsink holes."
i tightened every one of the litte black T8 screws around the X's.
Still having the same error.

Except before i messed with the penny thing the console wasnt over heating or getting any error. lol.
Im going to go disassemble it again and try with 1 penny.
Maybe they are pushing the board to far off the case making the heatsink screws not touch.
Re: Xbox video trouble
well
i think the console was having trouble and after all the taking apart
that one more problem showed up.

Re: Xbox video trouble
EDIT:
Hmm....ok, update then.
Used less of the white paste.
and using 4 pennies as opposed to 8 got rid of the 2 RRoD 0011 Overheat error.
Still back at sound and no video though.

Incredibly annoying problem.
Anyways i guess i could always just rip the liteon out of my other console and spoof its keys to the MS25 from my barely functioning one.
That an OK match for playing legit games on live with ix1.5/ix1.6(upon release)?
Anyone else have any ideas on what else to try to fix the no video problem?

Re: Xbox video trouble
Wow. from one problem to another.
I got video back after ~16hours straight of having the xbox running.
Now im getting this when i put in an Xbox 360 game.

Whats causing this now?
It wont play the games that it started up before.
They are legit games that i bought.
It WILL play DVD movies though.
Hmm....so i was told that if the xbox was rejecting the DVD Drive that it would make some really loud grinding noises.
(EDIT: i think i fixed the grinding noises)
Only with 360 games.
am i still able to dump everything and flash the drive?
Maybe it'll fix it?
The drives a Toshiba-Samsung TS-H943A MS25
Also its got the old dashboard, idk if that could be a problem.

Re: Xbox video trouble
well if it will not play even a orig game then there must be something wrong with the firmware and/or the key
being that it will play dvd movies
that is about all it can be.

Interesting.CoFree wrote:well if it will not play even a orig game then there must be something wrong with the firmware and/or the key

I flashed the drive with ix1.5 then put it back in the xbox.
It still gave that "put this disk in an xbox 360" error.
so i replaced the two cables from the back of the dvd drive with the ones that came with my 360xtractor.
and it solved the problem.
Idk if this solution could be of use to anyone else or not.
Hopefully it helps someone.
Thanks for the help with this issue everyone.
