i was looking at this post and there is no update of firmware http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... 0&start=50" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . i just dont see any post about it. i guess ill be expecting a load of post once the firmware comes out. I cant wait to play on xbox live again shame about the stupid gay dashboard tho.

while i have a thread open, i have a kinda not so complicated, yet kinda confusing question. I know that you guys cant fully confirm this but ye could help me get a clearer picture in all yere wisdom. ok i have 2 xbox's at home (one modded and one isnt) the online console has updated fully and has the new dashboard etc. So i take out the hard drive from the online console and stick it in my modded console. It tells me that i must update. so if i update does that mean that the xbox could possibly log that i have modded my console and ban me when i go back online even if i have the new firmware (when it comes out).

I believe that m$ dont check for the firmware version, it is them checking if backup games are being played. What does the firmware updates do so? protect against what ever detection software m$ have from reading if the disks are copied or not?

As far as updating to the new dashboard, it isn't going to increase or decrease your chances of having a modded drive detected. The thing that has been getting people detected and banned is playing games that weren't ripped properly or playing games that was downloaded and not yet available in their region. I you only play backups that you ripped yourself and they pass all the stealth checks, then the chances are very minimal that you will be detected.

man,once you tokk the update on on of your consoles you are going to have to take it on the other.
Keep in mind this "nxe" was big and things had to be put on the HD or mem card.
so when you move the hd over to the console that was not updated "it knows" and cant/wont play.

it should be fine to take the update on your flashed console.I have many out there and no one banned (yet)
but
keep in mind that you have played a bad backup or bad downloaded game you can bet your console logged it and as soon as you get it on line it will be banned.

well most of the time its to stop us from doing something that will get the console banned.
like when the new "ixtreme" firmware came out.it will not play a game that was backed up the old "xtreme" way.

i know ill have to take the update on the other but i thought i should wait it out, till the new ixtreme comes out.

it should be fine to take the update on your flashed console.I have many out there and no one banned (yet)

Well unless they have changed there method of banning, i had gotten banned only once before. i always have done my own backup games and checked them and burnt them to Verbatim dual layer disks. I got banned way back in the day when the halo3 beta came out.

i know this is guess work but would i be correct in thinking that the updates that had the detection software came out just before the dashboard update. Because i know that m$ dont ban straight away when they detect that a console is using backup games. i did actually update up until the new dashboard came out, i read the post here found out about the bannings and immediately went off xbox live, so it is quite possible that i am still banned just have to wait for the hammer to hit me.

well thats a yes/no there man.
sometimeyou will get banned as soon as you do something that there server sees as wrong.
other stuff is logged in your console and when you get back on live bang the ban hammer falls.

ok sure screw it im prob better off staying offline till the update comes out. is there anyway of checking what game an iso file if its labeled wrong with out burining it to disk

Run the iso through abgx360 and mulleter. abgx360 will scan the iso and tell you the name of the game, plus a lot of other useful information. I can't remember if mulleter will tell you that information or not, or if it just tells you if its proper.

ok i hadnt actually asked this, but is there a new firmware coming out soon? i know there is new firmware coming out for the lite on drives, but is everyone ok on the current ixtreme 1.4?

thats what everyone is running right now.
the v1.4 or 1.41 on the benq.

there has been so speculation on rather there will be new firmware for the benq,samsung and hit dvd drives.
i think they are coming.
for no other reason than to fix some of the spoofing concerns.

There was a new ban wave. There was a few people to get banned, but it seems this wave is over for now though.
